The National Institute for Science and Technology (NIST) is part of the U. S. Department of Commerce. In August 2014, the NIST was tasked by the federal government to "disseminate guidance to help reduce small business cybersecurity risks," (S.770 -115th Congress). We recommend visiting the NIST's Small Business Cybersecurity Corner to learn more about resources available to small business owners, managers, and IT personnel.
